不过,“快乐水”的制造商——饮料业巨头可口可乐今年似乎没那么快乐。
旗下部分饮料将停产
可口可乐大约一半业务来自餐馆、酒吧、电影院和体育场馆等公共场所的消费。受疫情影响这些场所大面积关闭,导致了该公司业绩大幅下滑。
根据可口可乐公司7月发布的财报数据,今年二季度的销售额为72亿美元(约合人民币489亿元),同比下降了28%,创25年来最大降幅。

The sales of Coca-Cola fell 28 percent to $7.2 billion (about 48.9 billion yuan) in the April-June period, which is also the steepest company quarterly sales drop in at least 25 years.

In response to the crisis triggered by the coronavirus pandemic, the iconic American brand has tried to optimize its product portfolio. Coca-Cola recently announced that it will discontinue coconut water brand Zico.
The decision to discontinue Zico by the end of the year “comes at a time when we are hyper focused on delivering on our consumers’ wants and needs,” according to a statement from the company.
In 2013, Coca-Cola fully acquired Zico to strengthen its range of beverages beyond soft drinks, but it never caught on the way rivals have. Vita Coco, for example, has seen its sales spike during the pandemic.

Besides, the company is winnowing down its brands to ones that can achieve a large scale. Products now under review include Diet Coke Feisty Cherry, Coke Life – a lower-calorie version of the cola sweetened with stevia – and regional American soda brands such as Northern Neck Ginger Ale and Delaware Punch.
业绩下滑致裁员
除了削减旗下品牌,可口可乐的业务重组战略还包括公司内部架构重组和精简人员。

The company on August also offered voluntary redundancy to 4,000 workers in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico and would offer similar deals in other markets.
“The voluntary program is expected to reduce the number of involuntary separations,” Coca-Cola said in a statement, adding that the global severance programs would incur expenses of about 350 million U.S. dollars to 550 million U.S. dollars. Meanwhile, it also planned to cut down to nine business units from its current 17.
